The popular Monster Garage Sale is returning to Sacred Heart School on Saturday 13th Feb from 10.30am-1.30pm.
A range of fun activities for kids will be available including: bouncy castle, face painting, nail bar, photo booth and Megazone’s pop-up laser tag!
SANTA came to Sacred Heart Early Birds party today! It was great to see Santa when he is so busy at this time of year!
The party was a great hit. We heard the Story of Christmas. Still not sure what the donkey and sheep were doing but that’s a whole other story!
Thanks to everyone who came especially to Santa for the early Christmas gifts!
If you have a four year old you are most welcome to visit our Earlybirds programme. Due to Waitangi Day on Monday 8th February our first session for 2016 will be held on Tuesday 9th at 1:30pm.

REMINDER FOR THIS SUNDAY: Parish/School Mass at Holy Name Church. Our Last Sunday Parish School Mass for the Year celebrating 800 years of the Dominican Order. Sacred Heart School as a Dominican school will teaching and leading the Dominican Jubilee Song, which is a great honour for us.

Climate Vigil, 22nd November
Octagon Dunedin
Once again we have been invited to perform. This time at the Climate Change Vigil on the evening of the 22nd November. A person connected with this event saw our performance at the Mäori and Pacific Island Festival and recommended that we perform. This is a public event and another great opportunity to promote our school. Please let us know if you are able to support this event.

I hope you have enjoyed the term break. We are looking forward to seeing you all this week as our busy term 4 begins and we move towards Advent and the Festive Season. The diary of the term’s events is being updated and will be available shortly. In the meantime I would like to update you on some happenings over the next few days and throughout the term. A full newsletter will be issued early in week 2.
Each new week begins with Combined Class Prayer and reflection in the library at 9am. All community members are welcome.
Ronald McDonald will be visiting on Tuesday at 10am with some important Road Safety messages.
School Photos will be taken on Wednesday morning with Kelk Photography. Family group photos will be taken first from 9am. Please ensure that the children are in correct school uniform. A reminder also that black shoes/sandals are the only permissible footwear at school.
A nation-wide Civil Defence Shakeout will take place at 9:15am on Thursday morning. This will consist of an earthquake drill in accordance with our school emergency procedure.
I will be away on Friday at the NZEI Principals Council meeting in Wellington representing the Catholic Primary Schools Sector.
Our first Earlybirds session is on next Monday 19th at 1:30pm. If you know of anyone with a 4 year old pre-schooler please invite them to come along and join us for a Sacred Heart experience.
Important Dates to note:
Sacred Heart School is a SunSmart School and as such we require all of our students to wear sunhat protection during break times and outdoor class activities during the first and fourth terms. We thank you for your cooperation.
