Parents and Friends Association Update

Term 3 2013

Welcome back to Sacred Heart for Term 3. We hope you had a great winter school holidays!

Our Sacred Heart PFA group helps with the general pastoral needs of the children and organises social events, and we’re planning some fun and exciting stuff this term. Here are some dates for your diary.

PFA meeting, Wednesday 7 August

A reminder that we have our first meeting of the term on Wednesday 7 August, at 2.15pm in the Staff Room. If you would like to be part of this group, then please come along! Or if you have any ideas or suggestions but can’t make it to the meeting, please let Kay know. (We usually meet twice a term. If you would like to be part of the group, and such meeting times in the week aren’t suitable, please let us know.)

Cheese Roll Social, Friday 9 August

It’s great to have cheese rolls available for the children as a lunch option, especially in the winter, and we’re getting together on Friday, 3-6pm, to make a big batch for freezing. Many hands make light work, so please come along to help out!  It should be a fun afternoon, children are welcome, and we’ll have a DVD playing, as well as having the playground available.

If you can’t help out on the day, we would really welcome donations of cheese, evaporated milk, onion soup mix, and empty bread bags. Please drop these off to the office by Thursday 8th August.

Cadbury Car Park Fundraiser , Saturday 10 August

The next day, we are lucky enough have the opportunity for a small fundraiser at the Cadbury’s car park near the Otago Farmer’s Market.  Entry to the car park is by gold-coin donation with all proceeds going to Sacred Heart! We have some volunteers already, but need a few more to cover the 10-12 noon slot. If you can help, please let Kay know. Please also encourage family and friends to use the car park if they are going to the Farmer’s Market!  Why not phone them, send them a text or an email to remind them of this.

Ice-Skating Evening, Friday 30 August

Mark this in your diary now –always a great  evening !  This is our annual ice-skating social from  5.00 to 7pm. Entry is $10 per skater, spectators free.  We will have some yummy sausages, snacks and drinks on sale, so dinner is sorted! Although this is a Sacred Heart event, we welcome extended family and friends – please spread the word. For little ones who can’t yet skate, they have little trolleys that the older ones love pushing around!

Enjoy the term, and we’ll be back in touch with more events!

Parents and Friends Association Meeting
